The story is truly based on facts. The entire family learned something with our 5th grader. We love the series.
I purchased this book for my daughter so she can learn important African American figures’ biographies. This book is really easy for my daughter to read and understand.
This book was amazing! It shares a lot of stuff about Rosa's life and what she went through throughout her life and dying at the age of 92.
GREAT FOR ALL AGES TO READ, HIGHLY INFORMATIVE AND EASY TO UNDERSTAND FOR YOUNGER PEOPLE. IM 32 AND ORDERED A SLUE OF THESE BOOKS WITH ALL SORTS OF FAMOUS PPL. I LOVED READING ALL THEM AND TOOK NOT LONG OF COURSE SINCE THERE SO SHORT , BUT WITH SOO MUCH INFORMATION STORED INTO IT. GREAT SHORT READ LOL
I loved this book! It showed so many things about Rosa Parks! I rated it 4 stars because it provided so much information about her, but I wish it didn't have as many pictures and I wish that it was longer! This Wednesday I am doing my Book Talk on it! I think children 8+ will enjoy this book.
This book is very appropriate book for young learners and provides a good way to introduce Rosa Parks and the civil rights movement. The language is not complex but it's not simple either, and the illustrations really compliment the text. I would definitely recommend this book as a useful tool for teachers in early elementary education.
I bought these for my third grade classroom. They are great for the biography genre and then to use for report writing. The three years I've used them so far the kids LOVED them. Easy for their reading levels, informative, and people they have heard of in their lives. They would read their own and then read other that they had heard of. Could have left these books out 1/2 year and they would have still been reading them.
I discovered this series when looking for books for a 3rd grade teacher who teaches informational text in a urban elementary school. The students loved this series, especially the girls. Very well received by the teacher and students.
