The main point of my review is to offer you the info on what the 8 stories are; by author, name, and narrator:HG Wells - The door in the wall - Simon VanceAndre Norton - All cats are grey - Barbara RosenblatStanley G Weinbaum - A martian odyssey - nick sullivanLester Del Rey - Victory - Robert FassFritz Leber - The Moon is green - Katherine KellgrenJames H Schmitz - the winds of time - stephen r thornePhilip K Dick - the defenders - gregory itzenFrank Herbert - missing link - scott brick

Three of the titles included on this are "The Door in the Wall" by H. G. Wells, "All Cats are Gray" by Andre Norton and "The Moon is Green" by Fritz Leiber. The most difficult part of this book is NOT getting a specific list of titles. Should be required on any anthology listing. The stories are excellent. Just finished listening to one I would dearly love to know the title and author, but I didn't catch that title. Hope this helps other buyers.

Super science fiction stories, many of which are hard to find. The narrators are spot-on, and it's fun to listen to.

The stories told on the audio CD are great. Nothing is forced. The use of language is strong and yet dark and mysterious and discriptive and deliberately slow. One gets involved and lost in the stories. Yes, great classic sci fi writers.

This collection was an awesome, eclectic bit of classic science fiction. My favorite tale was by Andre Norton, featuring Stina and Bat (btw: it was the only tale featuring a woman as the protagonist). The ostrich-like Martian was probably my favorite character (Weinbaum did a great job of breaking down communication to its basic elements). Missing Link by Herbert was a very satisfying tale to end the collection with.

We listened to all the short stories and enjoyed some, and others not so much. I guess that's I should expect when you listen to a collection of stories.

I have mixed feelings on this book, though I would have hated not to read it. Some of the stories contained therein were very insightful and predictive of today's society. Other's were a bit beyond my genre. I am not a sci fi buff per se, so it was pleasant to see what sci fi is all about. I'd read another such book based on my experience with this one.
