When Sylvia's Stoltzfus father passed away she was alone and thirty years old. There is a man named Mark Miller who is new to the community from Ohio. Her father Silas wanted Mark to marry Sylvia and keep her in their house so she would not have to go somewhere else to live. Mark builds and repair a buggies and had a very lucrative business in Ohio, and seems to be growing ing his community now. They marry but he wants it in name only he has his reasons he has yet to talk about. Sylvia knows he must have been married before because he has a beard, and figures in time they would talk about it. One day she finds a new born infant girl in the barn with a note saying her name is Roxanne. This is a story of second chances and a long awaited one.
When her father dies she has no one and thinks she will be spinster at 30 with no prospect of marriage. But her father had planned for a husband for her. So she enters into a love less marriage. When a newborn baby is found in the barn, it changes their lives. A nice story about healing and family.
What a sweet book! I look forward to reading the next book in this series. I always love reading Sarah Miller's books. God does answer prayers...not always the way we think, but he does answer them.

This was a AWESOME and exciting story ---- I kinda had a feeling that he had a past family that had gotten killed but the ending was very good. Yes !! God is AWESOME too....
