My husband and I are trying to get a business started and now that I've read it, I need to make my husband read it. I believe this book will be very helpful as we move forward. It's a really good book for someone just starting a business. It covers all the bases, things that beginners might not consider and asks questions to help you think and get organized. I especially liked the sections on social media and the explanations for business entity structure. I thought the plug right after day one for a review was awkwardly misplaced and there was a chart related to common objections which was a bit hard to follow at first due to it's organization and the fact that it didn't transfer to Kindle format very well; otherwise I probably would have given it five stars. Overall, a worthwhile read.
I've read lots of books on starting a business, or on trying something new. One of my favorites is Watkin's book: The First 90 Days. It provides templates, ideas, and practical approaches to business. This book does exactly the same - it provides a concrete approach to starting a new business in 27 days. With detailed instructions, and a thought provoking style, this book lays out the steps you need to follow to build a business. I found myself nodding and agreeing with the advice given. Written in a conversational style, it helped educate me the way a friend or mentor would, with simple analogies and ideas. I'm not looking to start a new business right now, but this book makes me want to!
I currently work with small business owners every day and continually look for new resources. This book caught my attention as a "how to" book but quickly learned it is much more than that. The authors have been very thorough in providing the entrepreneur the needed steps to start the business. Additionally, the book could also serve as a great reference guide for the entrepreneur to check progress in the early months of business. The book is written in an easy to follow format. I love the tips sections for easy future reference and the links to other resources.
As a photographer contemplating taking the plunge into owning my own business, this is exactly what I need! I've been considering it for a long time but the process felt daunting to say the least. This book is straightforward and gives me direction to turn my passion into a money maker. The step-by-step guides and tips, especially in how to develop a marketing plan and manage finances, give me more confidence to actually get started. Looking forward to getting my business off the ground with this!
How to Start a Business in 27 Days is a great book that details how to plan your business in 27 days. I liked that it had very clear steps and plans that give you a lot of ideas on what you need to think about for businesses. The book goes over a lot of points that I would not have thought of on my own. The writing is very clear and concise, and the book has a lot of tables that are easy to understand. Definitely a must buy if you’re thinking about starting a business and want a jump start that will lead you the right way.
One of the aspects of this book I enjoy is its practicality. This book is literally a 28 day manual providing the steps to lay the foundation in helping you start your business. This book provides a day to day guide specially informing you of the tasks that need to be completed. In some ways, this book is also a workbook. Throughout and after each chapter are questions for you to complete that help guide you into building your business.Overall tone of this book was great. It was consistent and to the point and very resourceful.
This book is packed with not only practical advice and guidance, but it also has worksheets to use, which I thought were extremely helpful. I’ve always been interested in starting my own business, but I have no experience or business “savvy,” as they say. This book cover a lot of ground, but it’s written so concisely that I didn’t feel overwhelmed by a glut of information. Laid out in a day-by-day format, you learn what must be done, from creating job security to designing an executive summary to finding resources and templates online to help get you and your business rolling. The claim of 3 hours per day for 27 days may sound a bit far-fetched on the surface, but if you follow this guidebook, I really believe it can be done. If you have been kicking around a business idea for a while, I would recommend this book. It will definitely provide motivation to get you moving in the right direction.
Overall it covers most of what you need to prepare for a business and what you might need to do with whatever type of business you start. It leaves it up to you to learn about the licenses you might need, it does not have the information for studying for the license. It is a good book to get all your ducks in a row before starting a business.
