While I am not New to the mortgage business, it's has been awhile since I was on the production side. This book served as a good stripping stone for my new venture. I am working for one of the larger banks as a lender, getting some background on the brokerage side is good information. Good read.
Very helpful in understanding the present state of the mortgage industry in the US. The book still be helpful not only for those working in the industry but anyone getting ready o go through the mortgage process.
Pardon me friends, but having been a long time real estate and mortgage banker, I am constantly on the watch for good technical writing about that industry. I’ve now found a jewel. Jason Myers has released a wonderful compilation on the ways to grow your business in the midst of increasing regulation. WOW! Check out what he has to say.
Disappointed in the writing. Clearly Jason Myers knows his stuff about the mortgage industry. I'm new to the industry and want to learn about how I can set myself apart from the rest. I'm not sure who the author was writing to but it sure wasn't a newby like myself. He jumps around so much with his content; writing as if you were an owner of a branch then on to if you were a broker just starting out. He needs some work on editing for his next book. And quit brushing the surface on all topics! Do deep dives so your readers can understand what you're writing about instead of going on rants as if you're writing an essay for school or the local paper.
I think for the price This book has great insight on preparations for becoming a mortgage consultant. Don't look for too much. And that is not a bad thing. The book focuses on the important strategies that we all say we know but do not execute well. It gives you a game plan and ways to execute.
As a layman, I didn't think I'd be able to follow this book...at all. But I was wrong. The book turned out to be easy to follow and had some great tips. I'd definitely recommend it for someone looking to enter the mortgage brokerage industry.
A great read for anyone looking to jump start their professional career in the mortgage industry. Very well written for two first time authors, a smooth read for all. Can't wait to see what they come out with next!
