When you buy a used book, extra materials are often excluded (like the dvd and handbook) to get a used book with these is very rare. My book came with the dvd but not Handbook. But that was to be expected, anyways if anyone else needs the handbook to you can go to the publishers website and download it. Do yourself a huge favor, if you are purchasing this for a class, and try to test out. It was a requirement for my undergrad degree and while it was an easy A this book, and the class, explained VERY basic math and accounting. Having already taken Calculus and Accounting, I was bored to the bone.The book does a wonderful job of explaining word problems and something I loved that not all books do - they show you a couple different ways to approach the word problem.
This book is a great math book for the ones who need to train their brain, or for students, or for people who want to make peace with world problems! It is very well detailed in terms of explanations and there are many exercizes to apply your knowledge. There is also a DVD if you encounter difficulties when practising. The authors of this book did a great work to make business maths accessible to students who are not found of maths in general. Bravo! if only they could influence French Math Academic authors maybe more people would like this discipline!
I needed this book for my business math class and did not want to spend $375 at my School Store. When I found out that I could purchase the book through , I was relieved that I did not have to waste so much money. Mainly since I am paying out of pocket for school.This book is very helpful and so is the small book it comes with. Although these books are always being updated, it will not effect you too much if were to buy this version two semesters from now!
I purchased a "New" textbook so that it would "guarantee" that the CD and booklet were included which I require for my class. When it arrived, everything appeared in order, the book was wrapped in plastic and both the DVD and booklet were inside. However once I opened the plastic I found that the textbook itself appeared slightly used. Even though it was wrapped in plastic it was a bit beat up and I found math problems written on the cover of the textbook.
I didnt get the handbook or the DVD with this product. I need the handbook for tests in the class.
They way this book teaches you its a little bit too technical an complicated, Even things that I al ready know how to do this book make then cumbersome and tedious.
This book was incredible vague so when you got to the problems at the end of each chapter you are frequently dumbfounded. For example, whn it mentioned a Quota, I had to Google what the hell a quota was because the chapter said NOTHING about a quota. I have caught several chapter questions not coinciding with the sample questions. In Chapter 20, there's a box of Insurance Rates based on age. In the chapter questions, the person's age does not appear on the table so there was no way to get the rate. Shame on every professor who assigns this book, unless you want your students to fail.
