Their bond is incredible and each would follow the other where ever they may choose to lead them. The trust of a dog and its handler shows no bounds and that is proven throughout this book.A vast majority of the book is getting to understand the relationship between Ajax and Chuck and then the rest of those that are serving right along side of them. Ajax is a wonderful dog with a bright future if he and Chuck can manage to survive the war that is taking place around them.In his down time he reads the book called Don Quixote and ends up going on a similar type journey. If you’d like to find out what happens on their adventure during the Vietnam War you will need to read the book. It is well worth the read for any child that is interested in learning things about the Vietnam War. It has some factual information thrown in with the fiction of the story. I look forward to letting my child read this book in the very near future.
Hi , I am ten . I like it because I it tells a lot about how dogs can serve and help men and women in the armed forces with fighting and finding drug's and suicide people trying to kill them self to do what the terrorist want them to do what they have to for the Muslims. Anyway this book was a blast how the kid who love dogs his whole in tire life and became a dog handler the military. I believe that the tides of war 2 comes out because C . Alexander London is a great author if you read any more of his books they will be awsome.
It is so fun to read these books and they are so nice that I just have to read more and more. If you like dogs you will love this book!
10 yr old loves these books...loves the history that goes with the stories...he doesn't put them down
Although the ending had an interesting ending, I loved this book and feel that this book, like many others, help all of us remember how wonderful all dogs are even during war. Dogs are key to life and I'm glad that there are books, like this one especially, to help many of us remember that.
My grandson loves this book and insisted he needed the whole series. Of course he now has the whole series, has read them all and told me he was going to read them again only from the beginning. From Gramy
