They are ok. I read a lot ot repeats of action in the booksand some are just depressing. I am tired of the authors ridiculingthe "Englishers" way of living and not all "Englishers" are the way they are described in their books. Not sure I will buy anymore.
I was disappointed that the stories could not come close to authentic Amish stories. The religious aspects of the stories are very confused. There is a strong Catholic emphasis, along with slight community church emphasis. Mennonite is mentioned but not in proper context. The story lines are interesting, but these are not Amish stories. At least one story has huge sections that were lifted straight out of a "Mail Order Bride" series that I read recently. I didn't go back and look at the author of that series, so I don't know if it was the same author, but it is frustrating to read the same story, with slight changes, and know that they were supposed to be completely different stories. At one point even a name from the other story was "copied and pasted" into this story.
While the stories were sweet, they didn't feel like Amish stories. More like having a Catholic influence. I believe it was the first story, with the family moving to Lancaster, PA, where in the end the minister (not a bishop) it was said "by the power vested in me by the state of Minnesota". I can't confirm that it was the first story as I deleted the books from my Kindle.
Not Amish Romances at all, very disappointed! I finally gave up reading after the 7th story I just could not take any more of these badly written stories that are just cashing in on a genre that they have no clue about. Save your time for better writers!
Very disappointed to find at least 4 of the books were ones that were in a set that I had previously purchased.
More enjoyable. Very good story line. Makes you feel apart of the community and. Want to continue this series. Would gladly read more
