This book is too easy for a 5-year old, probably ok for a 3-4 year old. However, review of numbers and patterns is never bad and my 5-year old enjoyed doing it and especially gets a kick out of the gold stickers you can use to track progress. The book was finished in less than a couple of hours though, it's not one of those thick workbooks that's going to last a season.
I liked this book, but did not love it for my five-year-old kindergartner. The math was a bit too easy, but it is always good to review and reinforce the basic math numbers 0-10.
We bought this series for our daughter and it's been great. We started with letters, numbers and have moved up to phonics and math. I highly reccomend any workbook from this series
My daughter loves coming home and doing her "homework". I'm glad I purchased these. Gives her something productive to do other than watch TV. It's also a quality time for the both of us.
Bought several of this brand of workbook and they have been wonderful for my son. He was two when we started these and some of the harder ones he is doing now at 3. I plan to continue to buy this brand as it looks like some of them go up to 6th grade. They are cheap enough to where once he is done using them it isn't a problem to order a replacement. he really enjoys the gold stars they came with and having them applied to his completed pages. //This particular one was more challenging for my newly three year old. We will be trying this one again next semester but it would probably work well for up to a 4-5 year old.
This math work book is excellent. My four yr. old has caught on so quickly. I def. recommend this book.
I think the beginnings were very easy (too easy). Instructions on some pages are wrong. Ex: Page 39 - It should be "one more" number than that one shown on the bat. Instead the books says to put "one less" numbers.
I'm honestly quite surprised at all the 5 star reviews. I think both the title "Beginning Math" and the grade level of K are very misleading. There is hardly any math in this book. I guess they consider counting to 10 to be math, but I sure don't. That is counting. Additionally, if your kindergartner cannot yet count to ten, that is a problem in and of itself. I purchased this for my brand new 4 year old who is TWO years away from kindergarten and most of it is way too easy for him.
