Do you know the story of penicillin? I didn't. But this comic gave me insight into the process of its discovery. Like so many things, it was a fortuitous accident that was brought to fruition by dedicated scientists. And this comic offers illustrations that make the story come to life, gives meaning, and "sticking ability." Comics and graphic novels as an educational tool are an excellent way to learn. Nicely done.

A graphic novel that suit for kids and may inspire them, the story seem to be part of the world greatest scientist series, this book emphasize on the discover of penicillin the first of antibiotic drug seem to be an accident that made by Alexander Fleming. The picture was good, the editing was good children will love it.

This is a great little book. I love that I can read it with my kids while waiting for an appointment, and they might learn something. The super hero seems to be fate, a mold the blows in the window and lands on a plate of bacteria. Fleming has thrown out prior dishes of bacteria contaminated with the mold, but then is smart enough to figure out that the mold is able to kill the bacteria, but that's the extent if his super heroism. This is still a good read, and still teaches children, but a little passive for a super hero.

I liked this story. I hoped I could read it to my children, but I don't know any old enough to be interested in it- they'd have to be 8 or older. The images are all in black and white, and the content is too advanced for younger children. I would suggest this for children age 8-15 who have some interest in science or need to learn it for a report. It tells the story in an engaging manner, but this is not a topic that many children would find great interest in

Scientists That Changed the World: The Story of Penicillin by Cera D ColbyPenicillin was the result of a laboratory accident, and wasn't it a lucky one, as so many diseases were to be cured with its use.Well put together book, except for the publicity blurbs at the beginning, I would much rather see them at the end of the main story.Interesting treatment of the original comic book illustrations should be able to produce a resolution high enough for Createspace Print on Demand books

I wish I could get this series in hard copy for my special needs classroom. My students like the comic book concept and will actually try to read this. The story is good. The pictures are not too childish which makes this a great Hi-Lo option. In my district, I have to let my students use my kindle to read this, however. That makes me uncomfortable. I’d really like to see this in hard-copy for classrooms.
