It took me like 15 minutes to read it! I'm 10 years old!and trust me, this is like for a first or second grader that likes minecraft!
The amazing artwork in this fun read was impressive. My grandson loves Minecraft and I’ve been learning more and more about it.When I saw this book I downloaded it so my grandson could read it. I found myself looking through it and was more than pleased with the purchase.This is an excellent way to reach kids (via a fun game) and motivate them to read.Highly recommend.
I got this book for my boyfriends little brother for Christmas because he loves Minecraft and loves comic books. I was quickly disappointed when I saw how small it was. It's literally only a few pages long and my boyfriends 9 year old brother read it in less than an hour. The storyline was good, but it's so small it seems more like a sample book.
As a mom of a Minecraft fan (and a Minecraft fan myself), I have to tell you, I loved this comic book! I was pleasantly surprised by it, for sure. First, this is a comic book, so it's written in comic book style (speech bubbles, all capital letters and little boxes that tell what's happening). Illustrations are in panels, just like comic books. It's not a story book (although it does tell a story) or a chapter book. It's paperback with a nice glossy cover and is a little bigger in size than your average comic book. The illustrations are colorful and well done. They are NOT drawn in typical blocky style, but my son actually enjoyed that, and so did I, because it was almost like a new interpretation of Minecraft characters. The story is mostly about Steve and his pal, Piggy. My son loved the idea that Piggy was a main character and even wore his own little warrior helmet. Steve sets out on a quest to help his beloved father, and meets many of your typical Minecraft bad guys along the way. One thing I really appreciated is that the illustrations are not gross or scary. My son is only 7 so I appreciated that the illustrations didn't show anything gory or frightening. A lot of times the Mobs were kind of drawn in the shadows or shown in a way so that they weren't terrifying. This is a GREAT introduction to comic book style, and if you're also looking to inspire a little Minecraft lover to read, even better! I need to add that this comic book was given to us by the author in exchange for a fair review, but we went ahead and bought the latest comic in the series on our own (The Wither Attacks) because we enjoyed it and wanted to see what would happen next. They are quick reads (they are comic books after all), but it's fun to go back to them and look at all of the pictures again and again. I also think this makes a unique gift for Minecraft fans, as it's something you don't see much of in stores.
Finally, some more great Minecraft content. Most of the Minecraft books and graphics novels are really poorly written and just thrown up there. This is really great art and obviously lots of work went into this. A 20 page comic takes as much time and effort as a 200 page novel when the art is done like this. Highly recommended for both Minecraft and comic lovers. Keep up the great work and the superb comics.
I love MineCraft. I got this book and it was good，but why isn't everything blocks？And，Herobrine doesn't really look like that except for the white eyes. Other than that，great book！If you love MineCraft and don't mind the two things I just said，I think you should get this if you haven't.
Got this for my kid. Rip off. You get about 30 pages for the price of $7. The pages could be less because I am including the cover pages. The price of comics is about $2 for the same amount if content. This product is selling tldue to the Minecraft brand only. Dont buy. Not worthit.
I'm sure my 6-yo will love it, but for the price I expected more. Better off buying it for Kindle for much less. Also I received it bent in the binding 1/3 from the top. Is it new? Quality is very poor.
