This is the ideal way to study poetry-listen to the CD and follow along in a book. The very best way is for an actor to do the reading because they put emphasis on the most appropriate parts. Authors reading their own works, for some reason, is not the best answer. Perhaps it is because author have already put their heart and soul into the manuscript, while actors put their soul into the reading. In any case: Listening to an actor read the author's work is the best of all worlds and makes the work much more understandable and makes the rhythm and meaning much more apparent: resulting in the very best way to develop poetry appreciation and skill.

So Shelley wrote pretty poetry, everyone knows that. In this excellently read collection we learn of Shelley's poetic fight for the Fate of Man, his terribly wrenching lines for social justice. In it is stanzas from "The Masque of Anarchy" as well as more familiar poems. Read by Bertie Carvel, a noted actor, Shelley comes alive and shows relevancy for our modern times Enjoy.
