King Solomon's Mines is a timeless adventure story suitable for all ages. My sons love the story. We love the trek through Africa-experiencing the scorching deserts and tribals war. The Colonial Radio Theater is true to H Rider Haggard's story-no romantic female but alot of action and excitement. Colonial Radio Theater picks the best literature!

Colonial Radio Theatre does it again! In the same spirit as their fine adaptations of Zorro, the audio fan can experience H. Rider Haggard's "King Solomon's Mines" in all its glory, in this scripted abridgement of the tale. The adaptation is true to the original all male "buddy" plot line. The story exposition in the adapted script is clear, the various actor's voice characterizations are easy to follow. Plenty of action and adventure make this a particularly suitable introduction to the audio reading format for boys. Great sound effects and suitable music cues make it a real treat for listeners of all ages. Highly recommended for those who enjoy full-cast audiobooks.

I like buying dramatized stories, because they hold my interest much better than someone just reading from a book. This is a great one, I've enjoyed it very much and can't wait to find out how it ends!

The movie is a classic, but it comes nowhere near the depth of the book, and this true to the book audio drmatization. This is a very enjoyable audio trip into the doop dark jungle. Great acting and a strong script. Teens and adults will certainly enjoy this exciting program.

This dramatized version of Haggard's ripping adventure is excellent. I've seen the movies and none compare. Jerry Robbins and Co. plunge you into 1890s Africa and this talented radio company stick to the book! This alone is well worth the price and the return ten fold!
