This is the 3rd Isabella book in the series. It's great. My granddaughter "Isabella" loves it. I also have 1 Alexander book by this author, I wish she would write more as my grandson "Alexander" thinks it's not fair his sister got 3 books about her and he only got 1! All in all this is a great book!
I love the Isabella stories!! So empowering for young girls!! Shows them they can be anything they want!! I want my girls to defy the stereotypes that are placed on women, and This is a great start to teaching them what women and girls could actually be capable of and what some amazing women have done in the past. I love at the end of the story that they provide a history of the characters introduced in the book such as rosa parks.
We love Isabella! This was our first Isabella book and when I mistakenly left it on a plane, came back for another copy (as well as the other Isabella books). The illustrations are rich - each time we read it, I notice something new. The story itself is playful and full of imagination. I hope as my daughter gets older it will get her interested in the books referenced. As of now, it's the second book she's ever asked for by name.
Isabella, Star of the Story by Jennifer FosberryMy rating: 4 of 5 starsWhat a cute story about a child's search for stories we all know and love. Isabella's hunt for library books takes the reader through her imagination and many different stories (Peter Pan, Goldilocks, Captain Nemo, Black Beauty, Alice in Wonderland, and The Wizard of Oz) all in the search for the perfect library book(s) to take home. The illustrations were very pretty and very descriptive. I would definitely read more Isabella books.
This is one of my favorites because it has all different characters from famous children's movies and my daughter loved it. It's a must have. Especially if your child likes books and it gives the child an imagination. Author of these series did really well.
I like this author's stories. I like how she uses the little girl to go places around the world that are famous places. And I like the idea that Isabella has used the library to get books to read about these places.
The beautiful thing about libraries are there are never a lack of books for my toddlers. Each week we go and check out six books.Isabella, Star of the Story, is beautifully illustrated and follows a young girl and her imaginative journey to pick out some well known classics. From Peter Pan and Goldilocks to the dangerous adventures 20,000 leagues beneath the waves to galloping across green pasture to the yellow brick road, my kids have made me read this book more times than I can count, and I don't mind.At the end of the book is even "trivia" about the books or the authors mentioned.I might have to add this one to our at home library we loved it that much. What are you waiting for? Your toddlers will appreciate it.
I am a big fan of the Isabella books. The illustrations are beautiful, colorful, and engaging. I just love Mike Litwin's artwork. This particular story is very fun and adventurous. It references a lot of classic story books. While I thought this book was really well done, my favorite is still My Name is Not Isabella.
