I am home schooling my grandson again this year. This is the most thorough Spanish book that I have found! This book is perfect for teaching 5- 16 year olds. It does say 1st - 3rd grade, but if Spanish is not their native language, and they have never been exposed to it, this book is a perfect introduction to the Spanish language.Even for older kids if they have never had Spanish and want to know a bit before taking the class in Jr High or High School. This book would be the perfect intro. I feel that if an adult were to sit down and work this workbook from front to back, they could also grasp the language easily. The book has over 400 pages and covers numbers, colors, animals, alphabet, parts of speech, expressions, days and months, family names and community terms and speaking. It has a great glossary which list the word both in English and Spanish for a quick reference. It also has flashcards/learning cards that you can cut out. There are two or three stories in the back of the book that are written in Spanish but it also has a list of Spanish Literature to help you find read more Spanish works.I suggest watching some Spanish TV as well, and soon you will have mastered the Spanish language. I found that my local library has most of these additional Spanish reading books and I am from a very small town!At the back of the book, it has an answer key, so that you can check your child's answers, so no purchasing a teachers addition is needed! If you were to use it for Spanish for home schooling and assigned a page a day, for 4-5 days a week, the book will last you for two school years! We started in 3rd grade and finished it in 4th grade.
