My brother gave me this book while I was pregnant with my first child. I was so touched it brought tears to my eyes. Not only do I enjoy reading this book to my son, I like to give it as a present to my friends who are expecting since it expresses the love every mother feels for their children.
This book was very touching. I captures the essence of the unconditional love that parents exhibit to their children. This is a great gift for a son to give his mother or vise versa before getting married.
when i was a little boy my mom used to read this tome and it allways made me cry because the mom was sick and to this day it still makes me cry and now im 15. so this is one of my favorite books and i will read it to mi child and he/she will read it to there child. it makes me think about the way i treat my mother. well all i have to say is "i'll love you for ever, i'll like you for alway, as long as i'm living my mommy you'll be" i love you mom
I really love this book, I have the english version, ordered in spanish because I'm expecting and our main language is spanish, so I ordered for my baby... However, I'm a teacher, and know the english version by heart... I noticed gramatical errors in the spanish version. Editor should check this.
I bought this in Spanish so I could give it as a "new baby" gift. I used to read this to my own "baby" (now 24!) every single night when he was 5 years old. The story is touching and so, so true: "As long as I'm living my baby you'll be." Every mother understands this!The Spanish translation is done well, but it leaves a little of the emotional "punch" out.
I CAN'T READ THIS WITHOUT CRYING EVERY TIME.I HAVE BOUGHT SEVERAL COPIES AND GIFTED THEM IN SPANISH ADN ENGLISH.MOMS AND TOTS LOVE THEM.IN THE CLASSROOM I HAD TO HAVE A STUDENT READ IT TO THE CLASS BECAUSE IF I READ IT, I COULDN'T HELP CRYING EVERY TIME.A VERY REALISTIC ILLUSTRATION OF A MOTHERS LOVE DURING THE LIFE OF HER CHILD AND THE LOVE THAT IS RETURNED AND HOW IT GOES TO THE NEXT GENERATION
The book is so touching that makes you cry. It goes so deep into details, in exactly how many good mothers feel about their sons. I recommend this book to all mothers and sons because their life will change once they read this work of art. I've read many books but this one is special. I read it to my son who is 10 years old since he was 6 years old very often.
I thought it was a board book, it's not. It's paper back. But the book itself is wonderful and a classic. My husband reads it in Spanish and I read it in English. I may have to buy the English version as well, this book makes me cry... But that might just be the postpartum hormones!!
