This book is a testimony of how hopelessness, negative thinking and abuse can hinder us if we go through life with stinking thinking. When God places people and events in our lives to show us a place in Him to get out the pit we must embrace it. First of all, I would like to thank Michelle for explaining how the term 'soul mate' came to be. It will save a lot of heartache if people will take it as truth and have faith. Domestic violence is the subject mostly touched on and the aftermath of this terrible way of life that affects Christians and nonchristians alike. I hope that there will be a continuation of this storyline because it needs to be told.
Again the author has done an excellent job of creating a few characters we can relate to. Her main characters, Knox and Jada, have been woven into a story that puts two of society's ugly ills on display to deal with: homelessness and domestic violence.The characters from 'different sides of the track' pulled several emotions from me and made me question whether I wanted a happy ever after for them. Jada was such a strong character and endured a lot, but kept her pride, literally fighting for her family. Although her living conditions and her family's dysfunction were difficult for Knox, he tried to be there for her, especially when an unthinkable tragedy struck.I enjoyed this second book in the series and recommend it highly.
The story held my attention and caused me to desire to know what would happen next. As a Christian, I prefer novels that display characters who live out their faith in the same type of circumstances as others. I do not like characters portrayed as ones whose lives spiritual 100% of the time. I just like more of the human side potrayed because it is more of a reality. This is my criticism of most Christian fiction novels.
I loved this book & wish it was longer or had a continuation waiting! It's so easy to see how God needs to work on everybody else but, when the project turns to you, we want a free pass! God uses whoever He wants to in order to accomplish his tasks!
Another great story in the life of the Stoneworth family. I love a good romance story and Michelle Stimpson delivered.......I highly recommend this book.Jacqueline White
This series is so refreshing and encouraging to read. Heartache, uncertainty, reconciliation and hope all make their appearance in this beautifully written love story.
