My son loves dogs & loves this series. He's read almost all of them at this point and we even have the new one on pre-order. He is 9 and an avid reader. If I would let him, he would stay up late to devour this book in one night.
Wonderful Story about a dog who arrived in America on the Mayflower. This story tells of his adventures from his own perspective. It's interesting learning a bit about that time in history as well. My children love the Dog Diaries and Horse Diaries series both. Even I read them at my age.
My granddaughter, 10 years old, has read all Dog Diaries, and just loves them. The story is written from the dog's point of view. I would also recommend The Horse Diaries. She absolutely loves them and asks for the next one even before it comes out.
I think that dash is a great book for all ages and I have read all the horse diaries and love them but I do like the dog diaries better because I like dogs more!!!
Sometimes my daughter needs a break from books that challenge her, and she always turns to dog diaries or horse diaries. She loved Dash.
My son loved this book! He looks forward to more in the series. What a great way to introduce a bit of history to small children!

Myeight year old daughter and I read this book together and both loved it! Great story and interesting historical information. There is a theme of illness and death throughout the book and I worried about this being too intense for her, but she was not bothered by itl.
