Very short and quick to the point story. He is greaving the death of his wife who died in childbirth. On her deathbed. She asked him to marry Hannah the midwife, to give their baby a mom. So, he reluctantly marries her in name only for the child. Then within like 4 days he decides to court his wife and have a real marriage. It all happened way to fast and really didn't see them grow as a couple. Wanted them to have more exploration of their feelings and depth to the characters before you just write... The End
This was a real tear jerker, Eli and Lydia were expecting a baby and it was born breech. The baby was fine, but Lydia didn't make it. Lydia made Eli promise to marry Hannah so the baby would have a mamm and he would not be alone. You need to read the book to find out what else happens. I give this book 5+ stars.
A very sweet sequel to Ellie's Homecoming. This story picks up with Ellie's brother, Eli, his wife Lydia & Hannah. Looking forward to book 3!
The Widower's Baby by Samantha Bayarr was one of the best Amish romance novels I've read. All Hannah ever wanted was to be a wife and mother. When Lydia died during childbirth, she made Eli promise that he would marry Hannah so baby Mira would have a mom. Eli fulfilled that promise but said it would only be a marriage of convenience. Lydia's twin sister who has been shunned since leaving the Amish ways suddenly shows up claiming she would make a better mom to Mira and threatens to go to the Bishop to have Eli and Hannah's marriage annulled. Will Eli realize that he loves Hannah and Mira and is ready to be a husband and father? Or will Alana succeed in destroying their marriage? Samantha Bayarr is able to write a great story and keep the reader's attention through the entire story. I highly recommend The Widower's Baby.
Eli looses his wife Lydia in childbirth. Lydia extracts a promise he doesn't know how he'll keep. The well told short story tells how love comes into his life as he comes to love his baby and the woman Lydia chose for him.
This book takes you right back into the story. Emotions run high right away. This book is a beautiful journey through grief and redemption. It leaves you longing for more. The characters are well developed. Bayarr leaves you feeling like you know these characters personally. I can't wait for the next book in this series.
As with all of Samantha Bayarr's books, this one is excellent! It is book 2 in this series. The main character Eli has lost his wife during childbirth. She insists that he promise to marry another woman. He is grieving this loss and is not at all happy about the idea of another marriage. But, as in all things, life sometimes has surprises in store!This book is absolutely wonderful. It is well written and involves the reader in the thoughts and hopes for the characters. I strongly recommend it for everyone!
This definitely is am awesome read. Its book 2 of the Amish wedding series , and just as good if not better than the first.After thee death of his wife can Eli love again?Hannah proves to be a good choice for being Mira's maam. Will she be a suitable wife to??Only way to find out is get this book. You won't regret itOne of my favorite series so far. Can't wait til Book 3
