I made the mistake of reading the sequel quite some time after the initial installment. This mistake quickly became apparent once I realized that I couldn't remember the initial roles of some of my favorite characters. So I had to go back to the beginning and reread in search of the memory I had apparently lost . Thank God the author had a trained eye out for readers such as myself who made the mistake of leaving too much time in between reads. I followed her queues off and on for some time until it all began to come back to me. It was on from then until the very last page and once again I got hung unexpectedly !!! For all of the years that I have been in the body of Christ, I am not sure I am aware of a First Lady that has ever endured the trauma, pain, tragedies, crippling heart breaks and dangers that Veronica endured. This was some tough lady that the hands of God had to obviously be protecting or I simply couldn't imagine whether she would have lived or died or gone insane if not taking her own life. There were no lulls in either book that I can remember but I can remember being touched by so many of the characters and circumstances they experienced enough to identify as being real and still alive to this very day in the body of Christ. Evil has no respect of persons and sin forever rears its ugly head in the lives of God's people. Indeed, jealousy is as cruel as the grave as God's Word so boldly states and the manifestations of its cruelties certainly were depict in these two books. It was the catalyst that created death, betrayal, insanity, legal ramifications, family divisions, and emotional, spiritual and psychological trauma that only God can heal.
