Clarissa “Clara” Barton was a shy girl who grew up to become a teacher, nurse, and humanitarian. I ordered this book for my daughter who has to do a report on a famous American. She is in third grade and this was a great book for her to read. It is clear and concise and includes a nice timeline at the end.
My daughter just finished third grade. I bought her 5 or so of these biographies about different women. She read through them like they were candy. I'm amazed because I disliked reading nonfiction when I was her age.
My 10 year old daughter loved this. These are great, straightforward bios on some of the most important people who shaped the world she will grow up in.
Love this series! I've used in both 3rd and 5th grades for projects. Great for teaching students how to read nonfiction text and text features.
Ordered this for my 3rd grader as a book report bio. Its the perfect amount of pages and written in a kid friendly language. I will defiantly be purchasing more of these in the future. Cant beat the price either.
