This collection was my first ever audio book and I have already ordered more. The reader uses a variety of voice changes, emotions and just the right amount of pauses to add to the suspense and enjoyment of listening. I hope to get the whole alaphabet!
My first introduction to Kinsey Milhone was 'Q'is for quarry. I liked her instantly. She's cheeky...smart...and about as 'normal' as a character can get. I read 'N' and then 'R' and decided I was doing this all wrong. I like the way one book leads to the next so I'm on a quest that started with 'ABC' and I'm going as far as Sue takes me. I know it's going to be a heck of a ride.
It's been years since I have read anything by Sue Grafton. I was in a book store when I noticed she was so far into the alphabet! I decided it was time to catch up and saw this compliation of her stories.I am starting from the very begining of the alphabet all over again to refresh my memory! While the novels do not need to be read in order, I get a better feeling of our heroine! And once again, I am enjoying the books more than ever! Can't wait to get all caught up again!
Sue Grafton is an excellent writer! This was my first book of hers and I was glad to have the three in one. As soon as I finished one, I could go right on to the next, through to the end of the book. I'm ready to go on to the next one, but I have to get it first! Grafton keeps readers thinking along with Kinsey, which I think is fun.
I started Sue Grafton's Kinsey Millhon series at N then I read O. I was hooked! I spent a lot of time looking in second hand stores for her old books. Fortunatly a small library in the next town was closing and I was able to get some of the old books. Also had some for a good price.A is for Alibi the first book in th series was "unputdownable" Kinsey trying to discover who actualy killed the philandering husband of Nickki Fife. The twists and turns are great. Kept me reading until the end. Get this book you will not be disappointed"A" is for Alibi (The Kinsey Millhone Alphabet Mysteries) I ordered a package of three books so I had A-B-C for a great price. I love the fact with one click you have a book ready to read.
First off, excellent reading.About the stories, they are fine, well writen books. Kinsey Milhone is a female PI in a small costal California town who takes on a series of murders in these three books. Better written than most of the series murder mysteries.
This is the first time I've read anything by Sue Grafton. I see Grafton progressing as a writer. I bought this book no knowing anything about the writer and her A to Q mysteries. I found the first novel - A Is for Alibi a good attempt. I did begin to see Kinsey Millhone as a real person however. Her second novel - B is for Burgler was much, much better. Though she integrated some of the information from A into this novel, it could still be read as a stand alone novel without the reader losing any of the content of the book. C Is for Corpse wasn't as well written, but still a good effort. I plan on reading D through Q, just because I've grown to want to know what lies in store for Kinsey.Makes me wish I could visit some of Kinsey's regular haunts, like Rosie's, to see the places in person. Grafton makes these places seem so real I can actually picture them as if I'm there. I hope all subsequent novels in the series gives more insight into Kinsey and what she's like and what makes her tick!
I was a first time buyer of audio books and this did not let me down! I love Sue Grafton books and these made the long hours of driving that I do on a regular basis just fly buy.
