Who Was Gandhi? (Who Was...?)
ebooks Download

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born in 1869 in British-occupied India. Though he studied law in London and spent his early adulthood in South Africa, he remained devoted to his homeland and spent the later part of his life working to make India an independent nation. Calling for non-violent civil disobedience, Gandhi led India to independence and inspired movements for civil rights around the world. Gandhi is recognized internationally as a symbol of hope, peace, and freedom.

Dana Meachen Rau has condensed the complex life and times of Gandhi in a lively text that is both kid-friendly and extremely informative. I bought this book for my 8-yr-old nephew, but before I wrapped it, my husband picked it up and read it cover to cover. These books are wonderful refreshers for adults too! Pencil art drawings complement Rau's story of this wonderful man's life and how he created lasting social change by peaceful means. I'll be looking for more of Rau's books in this series!

Informative with interesting information. A little sad in places yet for my 5-yr old grandson, but I will give it to him in the future. These books are great for making history and great people come alive. I will buy him all this series.

Kid read it in a day..she's 7 years old.. At first, I thought it was going to take her a lot longer, but she was able to read it from start to finish and seemed to enjoy it. i just wish the kindle edition wasn't so expensive..

I buy books from this series for my grandson. I love that he enjoys reading about "real" people. They are well illustrated and written well. As I have found most lower elementary levels lack sorrowfully in their biography sections, I have been delighted with this series.

Me and my kids love the "Who Was" and "Who Is" and "What Was" Collection. It's a great way for kids to learn about influential people like from our past and present in a fun way. Working towards getting the entire set, already have 38. Who ever thought of this idea and wrote these is simply Brilliant!!

The biography is complete and interesting for young learners. I bought them for students who learn English as a second language and they are suitable for them.

Great book very informative

I will read this book every day any time I can .i will try to finish it as fast as I can and buy another book.i think this book is going to be very interesting .
