In this book, the Rev. Don Piper writes of his being mangled and crushed in a terrible auto accident, and of his long, painful recovery. He was sustained by his faith and by the loving support of family, friends, parishioners and fellow clergy. It is an inspiring part of the book.He devotes only a few pages to his perceived Heavenly experience, but relates how many others told him that his description of what he saw renewed their faith in Heaven and alleviated their fears of death.That said, was it evidence of Heaven? No. Is a dream evidence of another world? No, although it seems another world. A dream, or even the sensations perceived during near death is evidence only that the sleeping, or dying, mind is capable of great imagination and imagery and sometimes amazing realism. Think of your own dreams, the detail in some of them, the amazing events of others and the bewildering sensations.Many people have reported that while technically dead, they experienced great, bright light and an overwhelming sense of peace, love and harmony. They meet dead beloved friends and family, even pets in Heaven and all embrace in joy at being reunited. So it is in Rev. Piper's book. He even reports hearing Heavenly music, hymns of praise to God. These reports seem to be remarkable, vivid and ecstatic dreams, but just that - dreams. Perhaps the dreams of the dying, for whatever reason, are especially vivid and spectacular.
