I got this because my son read it at daycare and asked me to get it. He likes the book. We've read it several times. But it is boring for an adult. This is not a lift-the-flap book. The story is Spot invites Tom and Helen to play. They stay for tea. Sally asks if they want cake with tea. They are so polite she tells them they can come again. At least it talks about saying please and thank you, but since we'd already drilled that into our son, it was more a book for him to have something from daycare to read at home.
One of the few non lift-the-flap Spot books, I bought this to help reinforce saying 'please' and 'thank you' to my 22 month old. She'll say it sometimes on her own but usually needs prompting, and the scenes in this book should help her understand when to say them. Very cute story and she loved it!
Gave this as part of a collection for a baby shower gift. My brother was thrilled. He used to love these books as a kid. I was happy to bring him a reminder of his childhood and a way to share his love of these books with his little girl.
I bought this book for a friend's toddler - along with a plush Spot dog. He loves them both! He carries them with him wherever he goes! Very pleased!
We have 5 Spot books and this one is the worst. The story line is boring and the characters/illustrations are weird looking.
I should have spent more time before purchasing this. Its very, very short - not worth the money.
Toddler favorite. We love this author and the companion books.
My granddaughter loves the "Spot" books.
