This book is awesome!I thought maybe it would be kind of outdated because the picture of the cover on looks kind of old fashioned, I thought. Uh, it isn't at all. The pictures on the inside are a similar style--they look like someone painted them with watercolors or something. All of the pages are very bright, and they feature paintings of the same five kids from the cover of the book, but on the other pages the kids are doing different things to kind of go along with the book's themes.The nursery rhymes are divided into 5 sections: outside, inside, party, play, and night. Most pages have one or two nursery rhymes on them. Half are in Chinese and half are in English. Sometimes the English and Chinese nursery rhymes kind of match (like, one page has the English nursery rhyme "Ladybug" paired with a Chinese nursery rhyme called "Little Bugs"), and other times they are just paired with a nursery rhyme from the same section (like, there is an English one about kites on the same page as a Chinese one about jumping rope). In a couple cases there are English and Chinese versions of the same tune (like, "Happy Birthday to You").There is also a bunch of supplemental information throughout the book, in English. Many of the pages have little boxes that say "Do you know.." and they tell interesting facts about topics that come up in some of the nursery rhymes (such as kites, lanterns, birthdays, and the Chinese calendar. Sometimes they suggest that the reader look for something particular in the picture on that page. At the end of the book there is a page about the Chinese language--written and spoken. There is also a list of the CD's contents.
