I have bought a number of the books in this bilingual collection for my grandchildren. I was excited about having the parents and grandparents be able to read the same story to the children in English and in Spanish -as they develop their vocabulary in both languages. (the family is bilingual). However, recently, my daughter told me that she had put away at least a couple of the books because they have illustrations that are very gruesome and that my two and-a-half year old grandson became very scared of some of the characters. In addition, the translation of some words and phrases from English to Spanish does not appear to include the traditional vocabulary and phrases that are most popular in original Spanish versions of some of these fairy tales.

What this series offers all ages is a fresh look at the stories they may know in a language they may not.Learning a second language is definitely work... no matter what the infomercials promise...and sometimes getting to hear things you know one way in a second language gives you a fresh perspective for the chance to learn and understand. And even with the age range of PK to 3... giving even the older age range a break from the textbooks with a childhood favorite is a great way to earn they appreciation.

We love this classic story. I read it to my kindergartner who in in a dual language immersion class to learn Spanish which reinforces what she is learning. Love the fact that it has English and Spanish on the same page.

I ordered this version of "The Gingerbread Man" as a companion and pre-teaching tool for the students coming from Sp[anish speaking homes in my special ed preschool classroom. They enjoyed it a lot, and were able to better participate with the whole class when we read and did activities around the english version of the story.

I love the story of the gingerbread man and wanted to read it to my three-year-old granddaughter. Thank goodness I had a large magnifying glass handy because the writing was so small that - even with glasses and the magnifying glass - I could barely make out the words. I had previously bought other children's books for my Kindle and all of them are difficult to read. The Gingerbread Man was the last children's book I will ever buy for the Kindle.

Very nicely illustrated, I received it on time, and its just one of those classic stories you must add to your child's collection. I'm glad that I found the bilingual version, so my son could learn both languages.

I had been looking for this story in Spanish for a 1st grade student of mine who is from Ecuador. He is an ELL student. He loves this story! It made him happy, thus I am happy!

I really enjoy this version. It's easy to read and perfect for pre k. I also like the Spanish version for my bilingual students.
