Pros. I like the way the English translation follows a paragraph of text, thus allowing the reader to read without having to go back and forth (especially important on a kindle). The difficulty level was about right for me, maybe a bit easier than I'm used to. But that's O.K.Cons. What isn't O.K. is the tediousness of the selections. These are really not short stories. Each is a brief report of a student/young person traveling to another country for a conference, festival, internship, etc. In most cases, the general observations made are banal and boring. Sentences such as this abound (English translation): "I decided to spend my third academic year in Italy, a country that has always fascinated me...Do you like traveling? Do you like studying?...Working in hospitals is quite hard for doctors and nurses...etc. etc." After five or six essays with sentence after sentence of this sort, my eyeballs began to glaze over.Still, there are so few books at this level for the beginning/intermediate readers that, overall, you won't be wasting your money. But be prepared to be bored.
This is a great tool for a French language learner.
