The child and the parent go through the day doing all sorts of activities and getting lots of hugs. It's a fun book with lots of different activities. There are clocks throughout the book, and the times show only the whole hours; the long hand on each clock is on the 12. After reading the library's copy, I bought a copy for our house and another copy to give as a gift.
We love this book. Almost every page ends with a hug. We love hugging as we read. So if you are looking for a good bedtime snuggle and hug book, this one gives your little ones lots of love and fun. They start to memorize it quickly, which makes it even more fun.
This book is darling! I bought one for my 6 month old and liked it so much I bought another for my nephews (5 months and 2 years old). We read it daily. He loves the repetition and it is a simple story and I love all the fun ideas for things they show the bunnies doing throughout the day - going on a hike, building with blocks, brushing teeth and so on. This is going to be one that I buy again to add to every baby shower gift. So cute!
My daughter is 21 months. It took about 3 reads until she started anticipating the line, "What time is it? Time for a hug!" She now gives us big hugs every time. Who doesn't love hugs from their child? It also has things that keep her attention like a ball, bike, sun, animals, stats etc. The main reason I give this book 5 stars is because this is the only book out of about 70 children's books we have that keeps her wanting to read. On other books, she turns the page and says "all done" when I'm still reading, but not with this book! She'll happily sit and look at the pictures with me while I read. The lines are short and fun!
My kids love this book so much, they actually destroyed it from reading it so often. So we are on to our second copy now. The illustrations are cute, and the book has a great rhythm to it. My daughter is extremely cuddly, so she loves hugging every time we get to a page with "TIME FOR A HUG!" on it. Just a great book all around.
Got this from the library, and my 2.5 year old loves it and has memorized nearly all the words. It's a sweet book that encourages hugging and fun together-time. My son has always been one to shy away from physical contact (though it has improved over time) and this seems to really help, as we include actual hugs while we read the story together. Very sweet and fun book.
This book became an instant favorite of my almost 3 year old son, he loves for my husband and I to read it to him and when it is "Time for a Hug" he yells it out with excitement and we both give him a hug. A great book right before bed!
Sweet and cozy, this books takes readers through the daily activities of a toddler, including hugs, of course! Cute bunnies don't need much of an excuse for a hug. Reassuring rhymes make this a great choice for very young children and toddlers. Very appealing.
