No matter how long you've been in a relationship, or even if you haven't, this book helps shed light on the areas in our lives we all need work on. For me in particular it helped me focus not on my partner/spouse so much as fixing myself. I appreciate the tenderness and grace these authors extend which is very necessary to bring the reader to a place of really seeing ourselves for who we are and how we can create some of the messes we get into in relationships. Working on ourselves helps us grow and is necessary, even if the other person in the relationship isn't willing to participate or take responsibility.
