This is one of my 15 month old's favorite books. He makes a roar sound when he wants me to read it. I love this book because it's colorful, has plenty of words on each page but not so many that it loses his attention, and I find it to be one of the more educational books we read. Each page is a different animal and we make the sounds together. Every animal is on the last page and I will ask him where each animal is and he will point to the animal and make the sounds again. It's not just a story; I know he's getting something out of it!
I bought this for my baby on Christmas. In the past two weeks, this has become her favorite book. We stack a pile of book everyday and go through them... but she constantly grabs this one. Even after we just read it 5 times!!! (Baby is 6 months)For my own sanity, I just purchased Zoom, Kiss, and 100 First Words by Tiger Tales. We received them today so we will see if Roar is still the favorite. I love the Tiger Tales standard of thick, colorful pages.
This is a cute little book with a cute storyline. It's hard to tell from the picture but every page has a hole in it which is the mouth of the animal on that page. This is one book my son wants me to read over and over again.
Parents and toddlers will love this noisy tale. Lion, monkey, goat and puppy are just a few of the animals who are scared. Young readers will be very surprised at the end to read who scared whom.Monkey has a nervous face and calls out, OOH-OOH-OOH!Who is chasing after her with horns and white beard, too?Puppy hears a scary sound and gives a frightened BARK!Which furry, whiskered animal has chased him from the park?Tiger Tales Books has created a fun board book with sturdy pages just right for small hands. Bright cheery colors and fun loving animals are depicted in the illustrations. Young readers will learn about different animals and the loud sounds that they make. Young readers will also learn colors, shapes, hand eye coordination and motor skills. Bold words and fun rhyme will keep toddlers engaged. Finger holes that vary in size will keep little fingers busy. Parents can use this tool to teach language development and reading skills. This is a great book for parent and child interaction.
Quite cute, but the book arrived damaged - it looks as if it was used before. However, kudos to for their quick solution. Iust say I prefer other books from the series - I guess open-mouthed animals is just not my cup of tea.
My son received this as a gift for his 1st birthday. Now, at 16 months, it is his favorite book. He sits and "reads" it constantly and brings it to us to read multiple times a day. He gets especially excited for the cat and dog pages and helps with the animal sounds for those. Definitely a must-have for your young toddler.
Our 7 month old daughter absolutely loves this book. We have to read it to her over and over, and she stares in amazement at the animals. She loves the last page the most, and she sits there and giggles and touches the page. The illustrations are really cute, and the storyline rhymes are fun.
I like this book but I like ZOOM better (same author). I think the story in this book is a little strange - like, it might make an older child frightened? That said, the colors are once again great and the rhyming is fun - I haven't gotten sick of reading it out loud yet!
