Hyperinflation In America

For the last six years, the amount of dollar-creation has been unprecedented in both U.S. and world history. In less than six years, the Federal Reserve has “expanded its balance sheet” by over three trillion dollars. At the same time, the U.S. Federal government has been running monumental budget deficits . . . which just so happen to total what the Federal Reserve has been printing. In the United States, we call this “Quantitative Easing”—but in every other country on earth, in every other time in history, this has been called “debt monetization.” Otherwise known as “money printing.” And in every other time in history, in every other country on earth, the result has always been the same: Hyperinflation—always. A currency collapse—which is going to happen in America. In this ebook, famed writer and investor Gonzalo Lira—who has had first-hand experiences with currency collapses in Latin America—presents a simple, clear explanation of what is hyperinflation, how and why it will happen in America, and most important of all, how to survive—and even profit—during what promises to be the most catastrophic economic crash in American history.

I am a student of hyperinflation and have a large collection of hyperinflation books. This is not only a good book but it has many insights not found elsewhere such as hyperinflation is not just faster inflation from more money printing but it is caused by a total lack of confidence in this money. Also, that it will only last a year or so because people need money and hyperinflated money is not effective money.

The prose is crisp, clear and easy to understand. He lays out his thesis and provides a strategy for dealing with hyperinflation. On the downside one of his chapters mentions hyperinflation starting in 2011. Clearly that did not occur. Does that invalidate his entire position? I will let others decide for themselves.

An excellent book which describes all facets; the horrors and the opportunity that the phenomenon can and has posed. Well written.

Lira is very very good.
