I'm using this to learn French better and it's so fun. I use it with Google translation to make sure I'm saying the words correctly. I pictured this book larger, but I guess it's a standard book size, not oversized kid book. This would make a wonderful gift for anyone who loves French and the Grinch!
Bought this as a Christmas gift for a friend. Despite the fact she can't read French, she loves this book. That is, she loves 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas' so much, she's collected every language edition of it she can find. To her the story is just wonderful; no matter what language it's presented in.
We love the Grinch at our house. Purchased this as a nice accompaniment to our French Rosetta Stone to help us practice up a bit on the ol' french language. The book is great, the story - classic. The only reason I removed a star is because this copy has very limited color in the illustrations. The illustrations are the classic ones, but I would have LOVED to see them in more than 2 colors - a need to be visually stimulated, I suppose. Otherwise, a fun way to enjoy the Grinch each year!
I am French and this book is my 6 year old girl's favorite. It is nice to read it in French. Of course it is not as magical as the English version but it works well a a language learning aid.
A romance language would help learn like French would help learning Spanish, Italian, Portuguese. The Global Village will be essential form communication to the world.
I bought this book for my daughter. She teachers High School French. She read it to her French 1 students at Christmas time!
For someone that loves French or for a student of the language, this is a perfect unique seasonal gift. It makes a great coffee table book for the Christmas season as well.
