Saxon Math 1: An Incremental Development, Part 1 And 2
ebooks Download

Saxon math programs produce confident students who are not only able to correctly compute, but also to apply concepts to new situations. These materials gently develop concepts, and the practice of those concepts is extended over a considerable period of time. This is called "incremental development and continual review." Material is introduced in easily understandable pieces (increments), allowing students to grasp one facet of a concept before the next one is introduced. Both facets are then practiced together until another one is introduced. This feature is combined with continual review in every lesson throughout the year. Topics are never dropped but are increased in complexity and practiced every day, providing the time required for concepts to become totally familiar. The student workbook includes student fact cards. Grade 1.

The Saxon Math program is the best available for homeschoolers. Its spiral approach ensures students do not forget information the learned about any given topic. Other programs feature a chapter on fraction, a chapter on geometry and so on. In Math 1, students are introduced to each concept using money as a starting point. For example, place value is related to dollars, dimes and pennies.

I use these for my kids. They are great! No distracting pictures. Just the needed information. My kids enjoy the routine exercises.

I have a child in kindergarten who has recently become interested in all things math, so I decided to get Math 1 for her to do at home. We like the curriculum, but it is so repetitive that she gets frustrated with "doing the same thing over and over". Of course, I think the program is great because it makes sure the child understands before moving on to something new, and then incorporates problems constantly from previous lessons. I do have to skip some of the lessons, just to keep her interested. Would be nice if it moved just a tad quicker. Great for a child having trouble grasping concepts.

Don't waste time with the Kindergarten curriculum. Start here.

I ordered this to establish a strong mathematical foundation for my 5 year old - who will be starting first grade in the fall. I've heard a lot of wonderful reviews from my friends in the homeschooling community about this program and figured, whether or not I homeschool, I wanted my son to start math the right way.So far I have been very pleased with the progression. It's very thorough and encourages the student to think about each exercise - not just busy work.I did not purchase the teachers guide that goes along with this - instead I'm sharing with a friend. It seems like you don't need the teachers handbook all the time - especially for part 1.Only four stars cause I haven't completed both books yet - but I'm pleased so far with the quality and content of the books.

Though it took awhile to arrive, I just adore it. I would, however, love to have the pieces that go with it such as the posters, meeting board pieces, etc, but I cannot afford them.

Saxon is a great curriculum! Super repetative, so if your child needs the practice you can use the sheets, but if you need to skip ahead its easy to do.

Exactly what I needed and super impressed with the company who reached out to me via email to see how satisfied I was! Very impressed!
