I have all of the School Zone math workbooks from Grade K through 6th, including the Fractions and Math Puzzles. For any child who needs brushing up on math, particularly during the summer, or extra help understanding a concept that was taught too quickly in a classroom, these books are easy to understand. As a homeschooling mom of a very "visual" learner, the color pages and fun examples make math less of a chore, and the workbooks can stand alone, unlike some workbooks where they are meant to be a worksheet to accompany a lesson from a textbook or other. These workbooks can be given to a child to do on their own, as the instructions are at the top of each page and an example. I have also found, while grading the work, that the answer key is predominantly correct. I have only found a few instances where the answer key is wrong, and it was only one answer or an entire row of answers was missing. Obviously, at this level, I am able to determine the correct answer myself.
My 3rd grader was having some trouble with word problems so I wanted a book for extra help. This book is great and helped her grasp some kep words in them and learn what to do to solve them. I only wish the book was bigger.
I am always the kind of mom that wants her kid to enjoy while they learn. Sometimes school is overwhelming for them and with this kind of books you can explain and teach your kids math in a way that they overcome fears and feel happy. The book is great, a must buy for 3rd grader
As always, this School Zone workbook is very well done. Children just seem to WANT to do the work in these colorful and interesting books.
I thought this would be a good book to have in his library for when he felt like a math challenge. Some of it is easy for him and some of it is difficult - so the book is just right
It really helps my son concentrate on the word problems and he is able to reach the answers on his own
good variety of word problems. not so difficult that it's not fun. plan on using the same format when my 4 year old begins school.
Bought this for some summertime fun for my 8 year old grand daughter. It keeps her busy!
