I've written a few reviews and this is probably the longest one I've ever written. "Everyone Left Behind:4 Minutes To Chaos" has become one of my favorite end times books. I loved Priscilla's attitude in tha face of adversity. She prayed about everything and left it all to God. Her faith is very inspiring. Priscilla's husband Hershal's commentary on providing for 70 people and his views on faith had me hooked. I found myself opening my kindle every chance I could to squeeze in another page. I just couldn't wait to read what would happen next. So many surprises and twists and turns! The writing was funny and light hearted at times and tearfully sad at other times. I love how throughout the story God brought the whole plan together. Time O. Day has written a fantastic book. I was smiling in wonder at the last few pages. You will love the ending! It really is an amazing read. I can't wait for the next book! God bless you Mr. Day and may He make you write faster!
This is a must read if you are a Christian, some level of prepper, and gun lover. This book is definitely written by some one with a like mindset that has a since of humor and a realist view of us. I laughed,cryed,prayed ,and pondered as I read it. His writing style is both refreshing and realistic. I avoid novels with foul language and unrealistic characters-this has neither. Some one said his wife was "over the top" as a Christian but my 2nd grade teacher wife is much like her. I see many friends or versions of them in this book. Definitely looking forward to any new novels!!!!
Near the end of the book, I was sure I was going to write a "what the heck is this about" review.. then I realized I had not put this book down, and it had me hooked...Just read it - you will laugh, cry and shake in your boots... this is what I truly believe a "preppers" world would really be like in the end times.. not all fun and games and guns..Enjoy, I did..
Herschel and wife Priscilla are survivalists out West waiting for end times. Herschel had been avoiding God, putting him last and his guns first. Priscilla is an ever patient faithful wife. Although the plot slowly meanders toward the end, I knew God had his plans for Herschel despite all the setbacks. Will the end times ever arrive ? the couple has been stockpiling for this eventuality of "the seventy" according to Priscilla and her interpretations of Herschel's dreams he has. This older couple are warm and lovable to each other, but Priscilla seems to have the patience of Job! Herschel seems to think he is cursed and plenty of problems come his way after a serious encounter with an intruder. Things only escalate as Yes! the end times do come and we see a group of people try and figure out how to survive. But God is in charge throughout the entire book, dear reader and I won't spoil this story! A 3.5 in my book.
This story got five stars from me because it is simply the best I've ever read. Plenty of action and perils that come with disaster. But those elements are only the backdrop for the real story. I'll avoid being a spoiler and not write more. But I'll indicate my appreciation for this novel by saying I would pay for a hardcopy, just to have it around to read again and again.
Murder, passionately captive, spellbinding - A story about a survivalist struggling with his Christian walk, to the end. I didn't anticipate the beginning of the story to develop into such an imaginative plight. Time, thank you for this book.
I did actually laugh several times in this book and therefore, enjoyed it well. Good writing and fun reading, even with the sadness of the times. Character development was well done. The end time take wasn't what I picture it, but it is a story from the author and his take was interesting. It seemed to point to a biblical endtimes scenario, but at times seemed like more of an end of a world, so was a bit confused on that; however, the focus of the author was on the main character, an ordinary man who has a lot go wrong and who began as riding on his wife's simple-faithed coattails and it was his thinking that was in the forefront, and he was confused about it also. Some things were not believable, but made for a good story. It was refreshing to read and did have a great time reading it...would recommend it.
I just finished this book and have to say, it was so enjoyable that I did not want the story to end. The author weaves a vivid and riveting story that is difficult to put down. He puts you into the mind of a scenario that is not so far-fetched in this day and age. Great book, hopefully there are more to come!
