These are NOT the same books from the Singapore Math site. I actually like these better. I have found that their companion workbooks (sold on the Singapore site) with the textbook do not give enough problems per page. I think this is a better deal, especially with the 4 for 3 promotion. It helps to solidify the concept better, than just the one or two problems in the other Singapore workbooks. I will now purchase the Singapore textbook and use these to do the practice problems.

I bought this for my 2nd grader who needs, and has asked for, more challenging math work. We are using it as enrichment material after school a few times a week. The book is very well organized, clearly presented and easy for him to do just a chunk as he desires. This isn't the original Singapore math so there's no textbook. (Check out [...]for more about the history of the Singapore curriculum.) So I wouldn't use it as a main resource for that reason. Also if I wasn't very comfortable with math myself, we might want a more comprehensive solution. But this is perfect for our situation. It follows the same curriculum as far as what is presented in each level and the methods used to figure out different types of problems.

Singapore math is the way to go if your child struggles with traditional methods as mine does. This is helpful in teaching them how to visualize math and break it down in a more manageable way. It helped my daughter so much. She actually enjoys this work book.

My daughter's teacher recommeded this practice guide. This is an excellent study tool. Using this practice guide helped raise my daughters math scores considerably. It really reinforces what shes learning in the classroom. I recommend this guide to all parents even if their child is doing great in math.

Didn't get 4 stars because it did not specify it is not for the US but for the Standards (?) version. It follows along relatively well with the lessons, but not exactly with the US version. You can figure it out but it's not as forthright. Glad to have the extra practice when needed, and it does a nice job of giving examples and explaining the rationale. So we are happy enough with it that we bought the other levels for other children.

My son's charter school uses Singapore math. I bought this book to help us get an "edge" on 3rd grade over the summer break. The book is broken up in to sections, and the start of each section has a brief introduction on how they expect you to solve the problems. The back of the book has the answer key. I'm very satisfied with this purchase.

I was debating between this book and the Primary Math Singapore Math series. Primary Math seems to be more colorful but the problems are less challenging and there seem to be less of them. If your child needs bright colors and illustrations, go with the Primary Math series. I picked this book because the book is straight forward, offers just enough problems to get the material taught without extra "busy work" and there are no distracting illustrations. My son is bright and picks up on math quickly and I didn't feel the "kiddie" version (which is what the Primary Math series seems to be) was needed. I was impressed at how quickly we've moved through Book A and now we're on to Book B!

My kiddos needed extra math practice. This workbook corresponded with our curriculum. It was helpful for my kids to have the extra practice, but also for me. I learned to do the same math problems differently a million years ago. So it was nice to have a hands on reference for how their teachers were explaining these math concepts.
