I got this books for my daughter, who is going into PRE AP math next year in Middle School. I was hoping for something to prepare her for the jump in curriculum that will occur when she starts school. We really love this book. The instructions are clear, with a lesson plan at the start, to keep her on track for finishing the book over the summer. She also takes tests over the information she has been assigned, either weekly or biweekly. She has not asked for help with any of the new concepts, because the instructions are so detailed. The book is smaller than I had thought, but each page is packed with material. I plan to get another by this publisher for my younger son.
i bought this for my sister to help her prepare for 6th grade and this book is pretty good for a math workbook. Good explanation and very considerable price. This workbook had a few answerwrong. All math workbooks have errors, but this one has the least amount of errors i have ever seen
I bought this thinking it would be a good tool to use for homeschooling in 6th grade math. Unfortunately there is not enough practice activities and instruction to use as a complete resource and is a little misleading with the title. Its like a review of 5th grade and introduction to 6th grade. I will read more in depth before buying again.
This book was extremely helpful in my work teaching Middle School students. It was right on with what I am teaching. I liked the review and practice skills they had. Definitely a useful resource.
Big help for my son who was struggling. Went from low C to A. The explanations are clear and thorough, and the lesson plans are clearly laid out in short segments to make completing the book bearable for hyperactive boys on summer vacation.
This was bought after my daughter, who is actually very good at math, was bored to tears with a popular homeschooling math curriculum (Saxon). It was intended to finish out her 5th grade year, but she liked it so much and it covered most of what she needed for 6th grade that we used this as well as a few conceptual math books and life experience math. This was the book she was using when she took the CAT (California Achievement Test) and she tested well above average for math - so I think it did its job. Taking one star off because there were a few incidents in which the answer key was wrong, but other than that it's a great choice for either homeschooling or as an addendum to schoolwork.
I got this to supplement my kid's public school learning and help with homework, since they never seem to have textbooks or bring workbooks home with them anymore. Organized nicely and so far seems to track the same problems he is learning in school. Examples are clear to understand.
We use this book for homeschooling and I have found several mistakes throughout it. The directions are sometimes overly simple and need more clarification. The answers in the back will sometimes be out of order or flat out wrong. I will not be using this company again as it provides unreliable material. Good thing there are YouTube channels and things like Khan Academy to help supplement our teaching. I will be trying out Spectrum next year.
