I have read several versions of PP and think this digital one is excellent. I read it on my Kindle Fire and the illustrations are clear and the original version of the text is well preserved.
A timeless allegorical tale of Christian's dangerous journey to the Celestial City. Filled with memorable characters like one Mr. Worldly Wiseman, Mr. By-ends, and many others. It is as entertaining as it is instructive. Recommended for all Pilgrims.
quiet a few words are incorrect...it's like someone put the text through OCR and published it in Kindle store without much editing to fix mistakes. Even still, the book is so wonderful I can overlook these mistakes.
this book is a classic of religious allegory. That said, I must admit I don't read it as a religious text but for its well told story, which I first read at age ten. We had an old illustrated copy and IThis is a classic religious allegory, still a great tale of the journey of a Christian soul.it is, of course, dated and most modern readers will not like the depiction of Catholics and others. This is very much a piece of Puritan (in the 17th century religious sense) literature.
Pilgrim's Progress is one the great books, but this edition is terrible. There are tons of spelling and formatting problems. After two years they still haven't cleaned it up. Buy a better version.
just what I needed. the rich allegory helped remind me we are all on a journey. and Christians are on a most perilous one. we need much help. but all we have to do is ask and persevere.
What more can be said? The eternal truths declared by Bunyan are as important to a man in the 21st century as it was in the 17th. To put it in a format of an allegory format took an extraordinary genius and a mind in tune with the Holy Spirit.
I love it! The examples & story illustrations are true to the Bible. The name of the characters are humorous and describes the true nature of the character. Sometimes the text requires you to re-read it to understand the meaning of what it it trying to reveal.
