This is an epic page turner. From page one I was immersed in the story. Brenda's writing is face paced and has a wonderful flow. Thank you for this wonderful book leading to God's grace despite the reality of painful circumstances.
I was a bit confused by the plural title when I began reading the book, however, part way through I suddenly realized what the author meant and realized that the title was spot on. I don't want to give any spoilers, so let me put it this way. For me, the book began rather slowly, but as it picked up momentum, it went in a few directions I was defintely not expecting. Brenda definitely paid attention to the little details as she crafted a unique story that speaks to the heart. All I can tell you is, pay attention to the details... I'm looking forward to her next book.
Brenda Poulos weaves a masterful tale of adventure and redemption. Her epic themes remind us that we cannot escape our problems by running away. It is ultimately the power of forgiveness that will bring hope for the future.
The opening description of the characters in Runaways quickly draws you in to want to read more about who they are and what caused the fracturing of a family. The importance of trust and forgiveness resonate through out the story.
