My boyfriend uses these, he's tried numerous different CD's but he tried one Michel Thomas and ended up buying this whole pack. I was not interested in learning spanish but upon hearing these cd's as I sleep and in the car I've found myself actually knowing some words and phrases without even trying.I recommend these CD's to put onto your ipods or phones to listen to if your learning spanish, good value and teacher.
This is just absolutely awful.I listen to Spanish lessons in my car, and after the great reviews of this, I bought the set.Terrible. The teacher speaks with no inflection at all -- with the exception of an overly exaggerated second-to -the -last syllable for verbs. And, he makes his students speak the same way. In addition, he provides obscure explanations for changes: "the t and the n are not strong enough to hold up the e, so it splits into two parts -- an i and an e -- when you change verb tenses." This is something I was told in the 3rd grade, but it doesn't help anyone analyze which other verbs won't have "strong" enough letters. The lack of inflection in his instruction is mind-numbingly boring. and the voices of the students are just flat out annoying. I have never heard a native Spanish speaker speak anything like this.So... will the third CD be any better? I have no idea.
This is a wonderful review of all the Spanish verb tenses. Michel helps you create your own mental structure that links all the verb tenses easily.
