I purchased this for use on my Kindle so I could do some quick review while on the plane enroute to Italy. I was looking for something I could add to my Kindle to avoid carrying a book. I had studied with Rosetta Stone and had also used The Lonely Planet Italian handbook so I did have a modicum of an understanding of Italian. I read through this guide several times, but just don't think it was suited to the electronic format. It was frustrating trying to locate specific items. I did give it two stars, though, because I used one phrase in the book repeatedly. Specifically, "We have a reservation."
I find the Collins books to be excellent in composition and content. I'm posting this same review on all of them that I've purchased for my Kindle, and I own older hard copies, too. I always look for their books when I'm traveling to another country to pick up the language quickly.
Great for holiday use, not to learn the language. I've just been to Italy and it was a great help when wanting to ask a question or order something. It's very small and light. I know people download phrase'books' to their kindles, iphones etc but this is small and handy, easy to see in the glare of the sun of which there's a lot! and easy to show the other person if you want them to see your question.

Very helpful while traveling but one key phrase that it is missing: do you speak English?Would have given it 5 stars if it had had that phrase!
