The best lesson deals with sacrificing for your wife they way Jesus sacrificed for us. The author explains why this can sometimes be painful but is necessary. I could not have read this book at a more important time in my life. It has helped me communicate better with my wife and show more patience. The book is very short-- short enough to read in a few hours like I did-- but i feel the tools lessons will last a lifetime.
My pastor wife recommened this book and "For Married Women" My husband read this book in one night. The next morning my husband and i had a wonderful discussion about both books. We like the fact that the author referenced bible verses and stories. These books are helping us to properly line correctly under God. I definitely see a change in myself and my husband of 16 years.
Tony Evans is right on the mark and delivers a message that is straight forward and practical. I was so impressed with this book that I went on to read "Marriage Matters", also by Tony Evans, to catch " the rest of the story".
As usual Anthony Evans is an awesome Christian writer. He makes the Word practical, exciting, and worth building your life on the principles of the Word of God. I purchased it for my newly married daughter.
I've read other books by Tony Evans and this by far is such a good read considering how short it is. Evans paints a picture of married men loving their wives like Christ in three different ways. Read to find out. Also, the book is so good I plan on purchasing it for one of my uncles.
I'm glad that purchased this book because it challenged what my understanding of a husband really is. I've been divorced before and now that I am remarried I understand more of what God expects from me. I'm ready to be my wife's savior, to sanctify her, and satisfy her.
A must read for men who want a biblical foundation marriage. Home run hitter. Men if you want to understand how to love your wife as Christ loved the church then you'll e-book it, buy it and buy one for a friend.
If you are a married man I would recommend you read this book. It really lays it out on how to be that Godly husband, in terms anyone man can understand. If you read this book, apply the scriptural advice in your life you will become a better husband. Thanks be to Dr. Evans for putting this out here for us to learn from, grow in, and walk out.
