I specifically chose George W. Sarris' narration because of his clean, crisp voice. I have trouble with the dramatized versions. They are distracting for me and take my focus away from the Word. I have vision problems and this has helped me very much. I am very appreciative of this product.
I purchased this for my husband for Christmas.He is getting older and reading is harder for him now. He loves it. The reader does a great job. We are very pleased with this product.
This is a great "talking" Bible. The narrator does an excellent job, having each chapter in it's own track makes it easy to find certain scriptures. It is clear and easy to understand, and the zipper storage/carry case is especially nice. I feel my money has been well spent. I had another audio Bible on cassette tapes, but this is much much better.
I have never read the bible cover to cover before, and always made excuses about not having enough time, that it would be too difficult, that it would take too long. But these CDs eliminate all of those excuses. I'm able to listen to the bible being read in its entirety while I commute to work every day. I love the narration, as it's spoken very clearly, and the language used is very easy to understand.
Our church is reading through the Bible in a year. I am not a reader, but like to keep my hands busy quilting. The Bible on CD's is outstanding. If you are like me, you will totally enjoy listening while you do any activity of your choice. A real blessing.
The person who reads has a calm, clear voice and knows how to narrate well so I understand better. There are no distracting inflections or noises. It feels like listening to a family member who you enjoy being with.
This is a great purchase. His voice is very easy to listen to, and the storage case for all the CDs is perfect! I listen to this every day on my commute in to work. The goal is to listen through once a year.
The text is wonderful but marred by the reader, whose voice lacks the simplicity and reverence that would illuminate its meaning. His dramatic rendering gets in the way of the wonderful stories and great wisdom that this timeless book has to communicate.
