I love all of Karen Katz books. However, this one is not like the rest. The pages are thick plastic instead of paper, so there is definitely no lids of laps in this one.I bought this for my two-year-old but ended up donating it to his daycare, because it is much too young for him. When the daycare folks looked at it, they promptly put it in the room with the young babies which is clearly the audience for whom it is best intended.

This is so cute!! My husband's only vice with the book is that some shapes are hard to distinguish, or that there's "more than one" like one is a hat on "triangle" but the brim is also a "circle" and ahhh, he'll get over it. I like that it's somewhat challenging in that way. Plus, when I'm reading books about shapes to my 8 month old, I trace it as I say it anyway, so he'll get the shape I'm talking about regardless of that darn circle bahaha. The pages are super thick also, I wasn't expecting that. It's a pretty chunky book for that reason. the pages when you turn it to the side are like pink lol. It's so cute.

My daughter enjoys the book but many items selected to represent the shapes don't really work. Maybe I'm overthinking it as an adult though. Both my husband and I happen to comment on the following. For rectangle, it shows a book that is indeed rectangular, but this book itself is actually square. Triangle is represented by a wedge of cheese with greatest prominence on one of the rectangular sides.

I Know this book is for my baby but wow are they cute and sturdy! Never seen a board book like this before. Very different and colorful. I reccommend it and i love how different races of babies are presented in the book. I will be going back for more karen katz books!

This book is very sturdy and the thickest board book I've ever seen. It's good because it can't be damaged but too heavy to take on trips or keep in a bag for being out of the house.I DO love how each page has various objects that are of that shape, so baby repeats me when I say the name of the shape and also use the shape as an adjective when saying the item out loud.Great learning tool for toddlers, especially when first starting to speak!

I love all of the Karen Katz books because they are simple, durable, interactive, and encourage children to enjoy reading from an early age. I like to find books like this gently used at garage sales for my three children ages 1, 3, and 5, but I recently bought this one new as a gift for my 10 month old nephew. He loves it!

This author really knows how to write books for children. Bright, colorful and fun. My son loves these books, and you can see him looking at the words, the pictures, and learning to make sense of it. He has loved these since he was just a few months old. Even when an adult can enjoy reading them to their child/children then it makes it fun for all.

Very eye catching book, it keeps my 6 month Olds interest and it's a great way to introduce shapes. My only critique would be the diamond. Kindergarten no longer calls the shape a diamond, instead it's a rhombus.
