The compact disc is very helpful to "hear" and then "repeat" the pronunciation. There is also a booklet which is helpful with many words that we have to practise and that we will use: German to English and with the written phonetic language. I will bring the booklet with me as there are many words such as: when you are eating out, money, transportation, shopping, travelling with children, health, basic needs in all these categories (and more) plus and English-German dictionary (vice versa) at the end of the book. This is the fourth language I've bought these books in. They are great for learning some basics before traveling and as a reference while traveling. This one came with a CD (for less than the non CD version) which was an added bonus.
I used this book and CD in a German Class for adults. It was an excellent teaching and learning tool.
