I was going to Italy for first time and bought various "learn Italian" resources. I popped this in CD player in the car and listened on way to and from work. It was not annoying or boring like some others. It was a cute little "play act" that made the words stick with me. You aren't going to learn extensive vocabulary or have conversations--but some key words for travel/tourist will stick with you.
It is the only Class I've ever found that teaches really useful phrases and words to function in a different country. Other classes go into way to much detail and or do many words not related to basic travel needs. I have Italian, French and Spanish. it is done in a conversational, easy to follow way. The pronunciation of words and phrases are repeated, yet not rushed. it's really excellent! I recommend it to everyone I know !!!
This should be used as practice for listening, but not solely for learning. There is no opportunity to pause and repeat, and moves quickly for a new beginner in the Italian language.
