we have some japanese friends coming to visit and this informal, talking group session gets you talking right away and the teacher gives mnemomic tips to help clue you in. pronunciation is very easy and learning some basic phrases and words is a snap.
I am a big fan of the Michel Thomas method, but find his voice a little annoying and also don't like when he gets frustrated on the CD. Well, this is a huge improvement because he's NOT on it! The teacher has a lovely soothing British accent and I was floored that I was able to speak Japanese so quickly and that it really isn't that hard. I would just ask that a few of the more common phrases be included like Hello, Goodbye, Nice to Meet You, etc. BUT I learned to ask for Sushi and a Beer and that's priceless!!
