So far it offers an African centered perspective I was looking for. It represents a fresh analysis that values benefits to the people as a part of macro-economic considerations. It is also optimistic yet realistic in projecting African accomplishments and future potential. I would recommend this book.I am using it as a required text for my class on African political economy here in the United States.
