Let me start by saying this book is full of grammar and syntax errors (as they relate to English, not necessarily code) but that is actually ok. The author is Egyptian and so when you realize English is his second language the book actually seems much more impressive. I have neighbors with worse grammar and they speak English as a first language.The book is an excellent starting point for curious developers to make their way into Bitcoin from a coding point of view. although everything in the book can be found in the Bitcoin.org site or on the wiki... it's put together almost in a perfect step by step way to go from start to finish working with the core client. It's fast and easy to read, and is too the point. Only a slight moment of levity hear and there and the rest is all business.I really enjoyed this book and really appreciate the author taking the time to put it together. Only wish more developers were doing things like this.
This book gave me every bitcoins programming details. It can serve as a quick referenece book of technical details of bitcoin. It is not a beginner guide. It is not suitable for beginners. The bitcoin information can also be found from bitcoins.org and other resources from internet. However, information from internet is not well organized. This book can make things clear. The presentation of the author is well organized and it is easy to understand. Some cryptography and encoding knowledge is needed to understanding the technical details of bitcoins programming.The table of content of the book is not match with book content. It made me a little difficult to search information.
This book jumps directly into the programming aspect. Definitely for advance users or those who want to skip the small talk. 3/5 because I am in the beginning stages who need the guide through. Looks very informative, from first impressions.
